We rely on the financial support of our community to ensure very child has a spot on our teams by keeping them cost-free.
Donate during the Youth Sports Giving Day period to make 2x the impact on the youth that make up our future!
WHY DOES YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF HVCC SPORTS MATTER SO MUCH?
MAKE 2X THE IMPACT
HVCC believes strongly that organized sports teach our youth key values in life, such as teamwork, confidence, commitment and so much more! Oftentimes, finances are a barrier to kids who want to play sports. To eliminate that barrier and level the playing field so that no child is left behind, we keep all of our organized sports cost-free. We take on all the costs of uniforms, coaches, equipment and playing spaces. We rely on our local community to help us bridge that financial gap through donations.
Sept. 4, 2024, is the inaugural Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day, a collaborative effort between the Aspen Institute Project Play, Daniels Fund, Colorado Gives Foundation and hundreds of nonprofit organizations supporting youth sports throughout the state. Through this campaign, organizations can raise essential funds to get more kids playing sports. The Daniels Fund will generously match donations made during the campaign (Sept. 4-30) up to $500,000.
LIFELONG BENEFITS
Research shows that kids who consistently engage in sports enjoy enhanced academic and career achievement; higher self-esteem; better mental, behavioral and physical health outcomes; greater life skill and leadership capacity; and larger earnings later in life.
COST-FREE PARTICIPATION
Youth sports participation is in decline because many families – especially those in low-income communities and communities of color – are unable to afford the cost of participation.
All of HVCC sports program are cost-free to families so that no kid is left behind. Help us bridge the financial gap by donating so we can can provide the space and resources for our kiddos to be a part of a team!
ALL-INCLUSIVE PROGRAMS
The average age when kids drop out of sports is 11, and younger still for girls and families struggling financially. Youth Sports Giving Day aims to level the playing field by raising money for a variety of nonprofit sports providers statewide and by elevating every kid’s ability to play and have a high-quality (and fun!) sports experience.
